Yeoville residents Yo!
Renowned Yeoville poets and POWA (People Opposed to Women Abuse) and ADAPT
and Yeoville Police will be addressing a public meeting as part of the
Community Policing Forum campaign against domestic violence.
When: Saturday 29 January at 2 p.m.
Where: St Aidan's Church Hall, 59 Regent Street, Yeoville
Yeoville has some of Joburg and South Africa's best poets and musicians as
residents. On Saturday you will hear the famous Feelah Sisters and Khosi
Xaba (whose book of poetry has just been published), all of whom lived here,
perform some of their poetry. You will also hear speakers from POWA, from
ADAPT, and from the police, and have a chance to ask questions or make
comments. All will deal with the theme of domestic violence, which is one of
the most serious crimes in Yeoville.
Come and show your support for our slogan: Make a Family, Not a Fist!
See you all Saturday afternoon
